Satellite
is a versatile nine piece ensemble which performs a wide variety of jazz, blues and funk. The group's repertoire features a virtual anthology of music from the great jazz masters, such as Oscar Peterson, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, The Yellowjackets, Charlie Parker, and Herbie Hancock. Satellite also pays tribute to the Big Band leaders of the swing era, such as Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Glenn Miller. With a fabulous vocalist aboard, the group also performs musical gems from divas Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and Diana Krall. The group's instrumentation consists of a four piece rhythm section (drums, bass, guitar and piano), a four piece horn section (trumpet, trombone, two saxophones) and female vocalist. The group is led by twenty-three year Air Force Band veteran Master Sergeant Allen Wittig. click here to listen to Heritage of America band music

The United States Air Force Honor Guard is the official ceremonial unit of the U.S. Air Force. Its beginnings trace back to the Air Force's infancy when Headquarters Command, U.S. Air Force, activated the 1100th Air Police Squadron as a ceremonial detachment in September 1948. Because of transfers and attrition, the detachment was disbanded by the end of the year; it was not until March 1949 that sufficient personnel were assigned to enable the unit to function. Later, on January 1, 1972, the Air Force Honor Guard became the separate unit known today.
