Air Force's Blue Aces to rock Brooklyn's War Memorial in Cadman Plaza

7/31/2012 - New York City, N.Y. -- The United States Air Force Blue Aces will perform a concert at Brooklyn's War Memorial in Cadman Plaza Park at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20. Their exciting performance is free and open to the public, and is part of several Air Force Week activities planned throughout the boroughs of New York that will showcase America's Airmen.

The Blue Aces perform an entertaining mix of classic rock, top 40 music, Motown sounds, and R&B. They feature the diverse talents of 7 professional Airmen-musicians whose commitment to excellence has earned worldwide acclaim and military distinction. Each year the group provides the gift of music for thousands in communities both large and small, playing for a wide diversity of audiences including school children, disabled veterans, high-ranking military and civilian officials, the general public, and our joint-combined forces deployed around the world. The performance in Cadman Plaza Park, taking place at Brooklyn's War Memorial will pay special tribute to Brooklyn's hometown heroes of the past and present and is designed for people of all ages.

With more than 32,000 New York natives currently serving in the U.S. Air Force, and over 1,500 overseas, Air Force Week New York City August 19-21 will provide flyovers, concerts and many other opportunities to meet and greet America's Airmen. Interactive Air Force displays will be set up from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Pier 86 near the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum where New Yorkers will have the chance to meet and speak with pilots, space and cyberspace specialists, combat controllers, security forces, medics and more.
